We are 8(a) certified and Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Business certified by the US Small Business Administration.
As an 8(a) participant, we can receive sole-source contracts up to $4.5 million, and up to $4.5 million as an EDWOSB participant.
Our status facilitates non-protestable awards in as few as 5 business days.
The Sole-Source process saves significant time and money, and allows ease of access to specialized technological skills and expertise, for example:
Any Federal agency can identify work especially suited for A3T, an 8(a) firm, and can set-aside the project without advertising in beta.sam.gov/Commerce Business Daily. This allows the Federal agency to directly award a professional service contract to an 8(a) firm without lengthy contracting delays.
If this option is chosen, the steps typically followed for working with A3T under an 8(a) contract are as follows:
When an agency finds an 8(a) company, such as A3T, that they would like to utilize on a regular basis, the agency can choose to award a sole-source Cyber Security Services IDIQ contract.
Preparation of this IDIQ is very cost-effective for the agency as it minimizes the length of time involved in contracting out individual task orders and it is not as costly and time-consuming to award as a competitive IDIQ.
This type of contracting mechanism can be awarded very much like the sole-source contracts described above.
A Basic Order Agreement (BOA) can also be awarded on a sole-source basis under the 8(a) program. A BOA/BPA is a written instrument of understanding, negotiated between an agency, contracting activity, or contracting office and a contractor, that contains the following items:
